The Ghorepani Poon Hill trek (3,210m) has become famous for its tame elevation gain, cultural riches, and most notably, the incredible sunrises. This 10-day trek welcomes thousands of tourists each year who are adventure lovers but are limited on time. This is a great hike for families or, anyone that who requires a less strenuous and shorter hike but doesn’t want to sacrifice the incredible scenery found in the Himalayan Mountains. The Annapurna Massif serves as an incredible backdrop for this trek, along with delightful villages inhabited by Gurung and Magar ethnic communities.

The main draw, and the highest point on the trek, Pooh Hill, is known for incredible sunrises on the mountains in the Annapurna Range and therefore the trek is sometimes referred to as the Annapurna Sunrise Trek. Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek showcases majestic mountains such as Dhaulagiri (8167m,) Manaslu (8163 m,) Annapurna I (8091m), Gangapurna (7454 m), Lamjung Himal (6983m), Nilgiri (7061m), Tukuche Peak (6920m), Hiunchuli (6441 m). The adventure begins in Kathmandu, followed by a scenic flight to Pokhara, considered a gateway to the central mountains. Its cultural wonders begin shortly along with the trek as the trail winds through villages and settlements of the Gurung, and Magar ethnic groups. Among them are Ghandruk, a large Gurung village, and Ulleri, a Magar village followed by Birethanti, Hile, Tikhedhunga, Ghorepani, and Tadapani. Day 1

Arrival in Kathmandu in Kathmandu Airport 1300m
After arrival in Tribhuvan International Airport, one of our representatives will come to pick you up and transfer to the hotel.

Day 2

Full day guided sightseeing tour in Kathmandu Valley
Today is designed for enjoying the sights. Places like Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, Swayambhunath and Kathmandu Durbar square will be the main attractions and are UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Day 3

Fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara 800m
In the early morning, after breakfast, we will drive to Tribhuvan International airport to fly to the Pokhara. A flight of 25-30 minutes leads us to one of the loveliest Place in Nepal. Pokhara is a lakeside city along the shores of Phewa Lake with Begnas Lake nearby. Many adventure activities are available like Paragliding, Bungee, Boating, and cycling. While boating in Phewa Lake, you will see Small Island in the middle where Tal Barahi Temple is situated. You can also visit the World Peace Pagoda, Mahendra Cave and Davis Falls which are the interesting places in Pokhara. Overnight in Pokhara.

Day 4

Drive from Pokhara to Nayapul and trek to Tikhedhunga 1540m (3-4 hours)
From the Prithvi Chowk, we will drive to Nayapul (1070 m) which is 42 km away. Our trek to Ghorepani Poon Hill begins with rich forests of rhododendron, many local villages, and tea houses. The trail then follows the Modi Khola which will lead us to Birethanti, after trekking for about half an hour. Another 3-4 hours will lead us to Tikhedhunga from Nayapul. Our stay will be at one the lodges in Tikhedhunga that night.

Day 5

Trek from Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani 2880m (5-6 hours)
This days trek will have some uphill to get us to the best places to view the magnificent mountains, and at times may be bit steep, but rewarding nonetheless. The trail will lead us to a beautiful village called Ulleri (1960m) from where we can see the beautiful panoramic view of the snow-capped Annapurna peaks. We will have our lunch at Ulleri. After some rest and refreshments, we will continue our trek to Ghorepani (2880m). The trek from Ulleri will be one of the best parts of this trek as we continue through blooming rhododendron forest and many local villages such as the Magar village of Banthanti and Nangethanti. After continuous 5-6 hours of the trek, we will reach Ghorepani and then overnight at the lodge.

Day 6

Trek from Ghorepani to Tadapani 2630m (5-6 hours)
In the early pre-dawn morning, we will start our trek to Poon Hill (3193 m). About an hour of climbing we will reach the Poon Hill viewpoint from where we can get magnificent sunrise views over Dhaulagiri Mountain (8167m), Annapurna I Mountain (8091m), Annapurna II Mountain (7937m), Annapurna III Mountain (7555m), Annapurna IV Mountain (7525m), Annapurna South Mountain (7219m), Nilgiri Mountain (7061m), Tukuche Mountain (6920m), Baraha Shikhar (7847m), Lamjung Himal (6983m) and other mountains. We will return back to Ghorepani and have some breakfast, and from there we will descend to Tadapani village (2630 m) through Deurali Pass (3090m). Here, we will enjoy similar views as that of the Poon Hill. Overnight at the lodge.

Day 7

Trek from Tadapani to Ghandruk 1940m (3-4 hours)
After a delicious breakfast, we will trek down to Ghandruk which is one of the biggest villages of Gurung. We will visit a Gurung museum and can enjoy the majestic views of Annapurna South (7219m), Gangapurna (7454m), Machhapuchhre (6997m), Annapurna III (7555m), Hiunchuli (6441m) and other Mountains from a viewpoint in Ghandruk. Homestay is the best option in Ghandruk, and one of the best ways to learn more about Gurung culture and traditions.

Day 8

Trek from Ghandruk to Nayapul and drive back to Pokhara 820m (4-5 hours).
On this day, we will walk a very scenic route with beautiful mountain views. After a leisurely 1 hour walk, we will reach Kimche. From Kimche we descend back to Nayapul following the Modi Khola. On reaching Nayapul we will drive back to Pokhara and then overnight at Pokhara.

Day 9

Fly from Pokhara to Kathmandu and transfer to Hotel.
On this day, we will drive to Pokhara airport to fly back to Kathmandu. On reaching Kathmandu your stay will be at a Hotel in Thamel. In the evening you can roam the streets of Thamel and can buy some wonderful souvenirs for your friends and family.

Day 10

Final departure from Kathmandu
We will drive you to TIA for your scheduled departure.
