Everest Base Camp Trek
Everest Base Camp is the blend of scenic beauty, unique Sherpa culture, monasteries, museums and warm hospitality to everyone you meet. This trek is one of the classics and on the top of every backpacker, and adventurers bucket list. The main attractions are Everest Base Camp (5664m) and Kala Patthar (5550m). The view of Mt. Everest (8848m) along with the spectacular view of mountains like Pumo Ri (7161m), Lingtren (6749m), Khumbutse (6665m), Lhotse (8414m), Nuptse (7861m), Cho Oyo (8188m), and Ama Dablam (6856m) are beyond words.
The incredible close-up views of Everest notwithstanding, one can also visit the Khumbu Glacier, another famous site in the Everest Region. The 16 day Everest Base Camp begins by taking a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla which is situated at the height of 2840 m from sea level. Once on the trail, it is easy to see why it’s one of the most famous and sought-after treks in the world because it is filled with majestic views of the Himalayas and many Sherpa villages. Some of the famous Sherpa villages are Namche Bazaar, Tengboche, and Dingboche which reflects their culture and lifestyles. One of the stops is in the Sherpa village of Tengboche at the Tengboche Monastery, which is the largest monasteries in the whole Khumbu Region. One can also get the chance to visit the school established by Sir Edmund Hillary in the mountain village of Khumjung. The Everest Base Camp Trek offers the majestic view of the Himalayas, diverse cultures, and traditions, beautiful and wide varieties of ecosystems and panoramic views of giant hills plunging into deep gorges and forests. Arrival in Kathmandu International Airport
On your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be picked up and transferred to your pre-arranged hotel in Thamel. After relaxing from your long journey, during the evening our guide will brief you of the next day’s plan and then overnight at the hotel in Thamel.
Full day guided sightseeing tour in Kathmandu Valley
Today enjoy exploring the world heritage sites like Kathmandu Durbar Square which shows the beauty of ancient architecture. Also visit the biggest Hindu temple, Pashupatinath Temple and the famous Buddhist site, Boudhanath Stupa. While exploring the Kathmandu city, you will find amazing arts and crafts that reflect Nepali society. In the evening get back to the hotel and enjoy the dinner after the full day of sightseeing.
Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla 2840m and trek to Phakding 2610m/4 hours
In the early morning, we will drive to Tribhuvan International Airport and catch the scheduled flight for Lukla. Lukla is a beautiful hill station surrounded by High Mountain from all sides. On reaching Lukla, we will ascend slowly to Chheplung village and then descend gradually to reach the village of Phakding. Phakding is a beautiful village surrounded by high hills from all sides serving the visitors with the majestic view of Kusum Khangkaru Mountain (6367m).
Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar 3440m/5 hours
Today the trek starts from Phakding through thick pine and cedar forests. We will enter the Sagarmatha National Park from Monjo and our guide will facilitate entry into the park. The trail consists of rivers and steep climbs that take us to Namche. Stunning views of Mt. Thamserku (6608m) here can be seen. We will spend the night in Namche Bazaar.
Acclimatization day at Namche Bazaar
Namche is one of the best spots to acclimatize. It is a bustling village full of every modern amenity, yet full of old world charm. On having our breakfast, we will start our day exploring Namche Bazaar and experience a little of Sherpa culture by visiting the Sherpa Cultural Museum. Then, we will walk steeply up towards Khunde Village and visit Khunde Hillary Hospital and Yak Factory. We will then walk towards Khumjung Village and visit Khumjung Gompa. After exploring these villages we can stroll down to visit the Everest View Hotel and wonderful in with incredible views. We can enjoy the scenic beauty of the mountains and beautiful landscapes of Khumbu region throughout Namche Bazaar, and the surrounding villages, then return back to Namche Bazaar and stay overnight in the lodge.
Trek from Namche to Tengboche 3860m/5 hours
The path is paved with the majestic views of rivers, hills, Himalayas and small Sherpa villages will lead us to Tengboche, a small Sherpa village. We will continue our trek through the bank of Dudh Koshi River leading us to Phunke Tenga. We will walk past the Dudh Koshi River until we reach Tengboche. On reaching Tengboche, we will visit the ancient Tengboche Monastery which is the largest monastery of this region.
Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche 4410m/5 hours
On this day, we will pass many small villages of Sherpa’s like Pangboche, Somare, and Orsho. We will cross the suspension bridge of Imja Khola before arriving at our destination. A continuous 5-6 hours of a walking along the different landscapes will lead us to Dingboche. It is surrounded by high walls to avoid the cold air passing through the mountains. Upon reaching Dingboche, we can enjoy the magnificent views of the Himalayas like Lhotse (8414m) and the Ama Dablam (6856m). We will stay at a lodge at Dingboche.
Acclimatization day in Dingboche and hike to Chhukhung village
Today, we will trek to Chhukhung Village from Dingboche, early in the morning. The trek will generally be uphill with some sections that are more challenging than others. On reaching Chhukung village we can enjoy the magnificent views of Nuptse (7861m), Lhotse (8414m), Lhotse Shar (8393m), Everest (8848m) and Makalu (8463m). Investing some time here we can soak up the beauty before returning back to the beautiful village Dingboche. We can enjoy the local cuisine and spend our night at one of the lodges in Dingboche.
Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche 4910m/6 hours
Today we’ll start our trek to Lobuche. We will pass through Dhungla which is a Trekkers aid point. We’ll continue to trek to our destination passing Thokla Pass, Khumbu glacier (the glacier situated at the highest peak), enjoying the scenic beauty of this region. On reaching Lobuche we can enjoy the panoramic views of many mountains such as Khumbutse (6665m), the Mahalangur Himal, Lingtren (6749m) and the Pumo Ri (7165m) then overnight at a lodge in Lobuche.
Trek from Lobuche to Gorak Shep 5140m to Everest Base Camp 5364m/8 hours
Enjoying the majestic views of the mountain range and Khumbu glacier along the right we will continue our trek to Everest Base Camp on this day. On continuous trekking for about 2-3 hours will lead us to a small village, Gorakshep. From here we will continue to ascend to reach the Everest Base Camp. We can feel the pride coming within us enjoying the magical views of Khumbu Icefall and the view of the Khumbutse (6665m) and Lingtren (6749m) mountains. Enjoying the environment and beauty of this region we will descend back to Gorakshep and then overnight at a lodge in Gorakshep.
Hike to Kala Patthar 5550m & trek to Pheriche 4240m/6 hours
The hike to Kala Patthar is a highlight of this journey. In the early morning, we will continue our hike to Kala Patthar from Gorakshep, so that we can see the rising sun from Kala Patthar and where we can see the mountains of Mount Everest (8848m), Nuptse (7861m), Lhotse (8414m) and the Pumo Ri (7165m). The view will surely be one of the most memorable parts of our trekking journey to the Everest Base Camp. After spending some time at Kala Patthar we will descend back to Pheriche (4240m) and then overnight at Pheriche.
Trek from Pheriche to Tengboche 3860m/5 hours
On this day we will descend back to Tengboche following the same route along the Imja Khola. In the early morning, we will leave for Tengboche from Pheriche. On reaching Tengboche we can enjoy the unique culture of the Sherpa people and then overnight at a lodge in Tengboche.
Trek from Tengboche to Namche 3440m/5 hours
5 hours of descending will lead us to Namche. On this day we will trek back to Namche following the same route, which is a commercial hub for the Khumbu region. On reaching Namche we will check-in at a lodge and have some rest.
Trek from Namche to Lukla 2800m/6 hours
After having some breakfast at the lodge we will descend back to Lukla. Passing again through the beautiful villages of the Sherpa culture, Gumbas, and beautiful pine forest will lead us to Lukla. On reaching Lukla we will visit Lukla and enjoy the beautiful small village surrounded by the high hills and then overnight at Lukla.
Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu 45 minutes by plane and transfer to Hotel.
On this day we will fly back to Kathmandu from Lukla airport enjoying the beautiful sights and remembering the wonderful adventure. We will bid goodbye to the locals and return back to Kathmandu on returning back we will transfer you to the hotel in Thamel.
Final Departure from Kathmandu
We will drop you to Tribhuvan International Airport for your scheduled flight.
Int’l/Dom Airport/Hotel/Airport picks up and transfers by private car/van on arrival and departure.
